Welcome to the Green Minds project, a community ecotherapy service based at Brecon & District Mind. We meet twice weekly in the Brecon area with a small group of members who all share a common interest in the natural world, whether through walking, gardening, conservation or taking part in creative activities working with natural materials. Our ecotherapy service provides a supportive and caring environment for individuals with existing mental health issues or for those at risk of becoming mentally unwell.
You can find out more about our vision and values within our Aboutsection.
The Covid-19 pandemic of course meant that we were unable to deliver any of our face-to-face activities, but as the restrictions on lockdown have started to ease we are slowly starting our project work up again, albeit with some changes in place to ensure social distancing measures can be maintained and our group numbers kept to a minimum.
We hope that the Green Minds website and the wellbeing resources that can be found here will continue to provide some support and relief for those struggling in this challenging and uncertain time. You are not alone.
We have also created a list in our Further Supportpage which will direct you to Brecon & District Mind's other projects & support services.
As we all reflect upon the uncertainty that still lies ahead let nature be a source of balance and hope.....
“In times of crisis, the natural world is a source of both joy and solace… The natural world produces the comfort that can come from nothing else." - David Attenborough
Best wishes to you all from the Green Minds team.
